The Gibraltar Turning Point Free-standing Hardware series was developed to address two basic issues reported all the time from drummers who used cymbal stands in their set-up. Stands are heavy to carry to and from the gig. Wing nuts are frustrating, drummers are tired of screwing on and unscrewing off wing nuts that get lost and are frustrating. Even aftermarket easy on and off accessories get lost and cost a lot to replace.

Turning point hardware features a very different design tripod leg base, rather than standard double bracing made heavy steel; they made the bracing from L-rod stock aluminum. Using lighter weight aluminum material on the tri-pod leg base take some of the weight out of the stand, giving you and your back a break when carrying, but when the stand is placed in position, it holds rock solid.
