Two different cymbals, two different sounds, one sonically-pleasing hihat combination. That’s the sound story of the K Zildjian Special K/Z cymbals.

As to how these unique cymbals came about, Zildjian craftsmen wondered what would happen if they paired two very popular cymbals from separate series in one hihat set. The Special K/Z hihats in 13" and 14" sizes are what they came up with. On top is the K Zildjian hihat, with its deep and solid "chick" sound and fast response. Underneath is the Zildjian Z Custom Dyno Beat bottom that’s very loud and cutting. Together, they create a dry, musical stick sound and bright, sharply defined “chick.”
