The superior sound and musical versatility of the Zildjian ZHT hihats is enough to make any serious drummer perk up his or her ears. These affordable hihats are an exceptionally balanced pair with a wide range of frequencies and a solid response. Made to be played open or closed, with stick or a foot pedal, they’re great for accenting and embellishing just about every genre of music you could ever want to play.
Although the ZHT series is a moderately-priced, entry level cymbal collection, the effects and “chick” sounds they generate are surprisingly sophisticated and boast good volume for the size and price. That’s why drummers of all ages and skill levels like having these higher-pitched hihats in their rotation. With ZHT hihats, you get cymbals that give you the dramatic accents you want right now and later. It’s no fun to play the same ol’, same ol’ all the time, so these hihats invite you to explore and experiment with even more sounds as you work up your confidence and your ability. Let your sticks and brushes travel up, down and all around the cymbal’s shape, even onto the small bell, and hear what you find.
These hihats, like all sheet-cut bronze alloy cymbals in the Zildjian ZHT collection, are crafted from 88% copper and 12% tin with a traditional, darker hued finish. The addition of the extra tin helps these cymbals achieve a more sophisticated tonal expression with greater range and projection. The hihats are also fully lathed on top and bottom and feature precisely placed machine hammering that accentuate the distinct sound properties.
